MELISSA LENON, MFT
Divorce Coaching, Parenting Plan Mediator, Coparent Counseling, Teen and Adult Child Specialist, Parent-Child Contact Problems, Individual and Couples Therapy
Though many of us were wounded in childhood, few of us have had the opportunity to work through the challenges life presented then or now. Those I work with will want a compassionate guide for the purpose of more fully enjoying their lives & their relationships.
An area of focus in my work is separating & divorcing families. I work as a Divorce Coach, Teen and Adult Child Specialist and Co-Parent Counselor. I mediate Parenting Plans in the early phase of divorce and as changes are needed. I see parents & children where circumstances are particularly challenging. If you are looking for things to get better for yourself and your children, you may find my approach useful.

ABOUT
A little about me...
I bring a rich and varied work history to my current work as a therapist and divorce specialist. I had many years as a small business owner, professional ballroom instructor and community volunteer with an undergraduate degree from Seattle Pacific University in Psychology and Sociology/Anthropology.
My mental health career began as a parent-child and child therapist at Kidscope Center for Developmental and Behavioural Health in an interdisciplinary setting that was incredibly enriching (the Kidscope team included Developmental Behavioral Pediatricians, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and others). I provided assessment, child and dyadic therapy for children from 4-9 years old utilizing developmental, relational and trauma-informed models of practice. I continued my emphasis on children and families at Asian American Recovery Services working with children and their parents.

When I built my private practice, I emphasised working with adults,18 to 85, on life changes, divorce, depression, anxiety, bipolar, and trauma in a relational, psychodynamic, psycho-educational frameworks. Couple's therapy has always been a part of my practice.
Throughout my mental health career, I specialized in separation and divorce. I provide Co-Parent Counseling, Divorce Coaching, Parenting Plan Mediation, Parent-Child Contact Problems counseling and am a Child Specialist in Collaborative Law where I work with a variety of specialists in the divorce arena.

I hold a Masters Degree from Santa Clara University in Counseling Psychology. I am licensed in the state of California. Additionally, I have been a member of the AFCC, CAMFT and IACP for a number of years and am trained as a mediator and co-parent specialist.
